About Ants

Ants are common insects, more than 12,000 species of ants all over the world. Although ants are frustrating when they get into your home, ants do help the environment.

Ants communicate and cooperate by using chemicals that can alert others to danger or lead them to a promising food source. They typically eat nectar, seeds, fungus, or insects. Their colonies are located in wet environments near a food source. These colonies can grow to monumental size, sometimes covering entire habitats, such as an entire garden or your whole back yard.
